Tenormin No Prescription

Tenormin is prescribed for the management of hypertention and long-term management of patients with angina pectoris.
Tenormin is prescribed alone or in combination with other prescriptions to treat high blood pressure. It also is prescribed to prevent angina (chest pain) and treat heart attacks. Tenormin is in a class of prescriptions called beta blockers. It works by slowing the heart rate and relaxing the blood vessels so the heart does not have to pump as hard.

A cardioselective beta-adrenergic blocker possessing properties and potency similar to propranolol, but without a negative inotropic effect.

Tenormin Contraindications

Tenormin is contraindicated in sinus bradycardia, heart block greater than first degree, cardiogenic shock, and overt cardiac failure.

Tenormin is contraindicated in those patients with a history of hypersensitivity to the Tenormin or any of the drug productis components.

Tenormin Without a Prescription

Tenormin comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It is usually taken once or twice a day. To help you remember to take Tenormin, take it around the same time every day.

Tenormin controls high blood pressure and angina but does not cure them. It may take 1-2 weeks before you feel the full benefit of Tenormin.

Tenormin, a competitive beta(1)-selective adrenergic antagonist, has the lowest lipid solubility of Tenormin class. Although it is similar to metoprolol, Tenormin differs from pindolol and propranolol in that it does not have intrinsic sympathomimetic properties or membrane-stabilizing activity. Tenormin is used alone or with chlorthalidone in the management of hypertension and edema.
